I am so excited to be working at Sawgrass Bay Elementary. While this is my first year at SBE, it is my eleventh year teaching. Teaching is a second career for me, as I was a social worker for about ten years prior to becoming a teacher. I earned my Master's of Arts in Teaching from National University. I enjoy learning and reading about new ways to make learning fun and exciting for the students.
I have been married for 19 years this November to my awesome husband, Richard. We have two beautiful daughters. My oldest, Arden will be a senior at South Lake High School this year. She is actually attending all of her classes, except chorus, at Lake Sumter State College, from which she will graduate with her AA degree in May 2019. That's before she even gets her high school diploma! My youngest daughter, Lindsey, will be in the eighth grade at Clermont Middle School. Lindsey is the 1st Lieutenant of the band, the Vice President of Tri-M Honor Society and a volleyball player. At thirteen she is about 6 feet tall!
One of these days I would love to take another cruise in the Mediterranean Sea, and stop in the places that we haven't visited. Until then, I will travel through my books and share my love of reading with my students!
If you haven't noticed already, the classroom theme is pineapples! The saying goes:
Be like a pineapple, Stand Tall, Wear a Crown and Be Sweet on the Inside!!!!
